Kindergarten
The kindergartners spend 25 minutes in the computer lab each week. They learn about the parts of a computer, practice using a mouse and use a variety of educational software which reinforce the concepts that they are learning in their classrooms. During the second half of the school year, the students begin learning about the location of each of the letters on a keyboard. We currently use Dance Mat Typing to practice two letters and review the letters previously learned each week. We do each lesson for two consecutive weeks.
The second half of their media class time is spend in the library. They are exposed to the works by a variety of well know authors and learn about the parts of a book and story elements. Students check out one book each week.
